NYC Eats: Dos Caminos

Do you like Mexican food? Umm, duh. Wanna know the swankiest Mexican restaurant with delicious food and out-of-this-world margaritas in New York City? Of course you do. Good thing I'm here to tell you! Folks, when that spicy pico de gallo craving hits you among the bustling city streets in Midtown East, look no further than Dos Caminos on 3rd & 50th. They boast themselves on serving up the tastiest modern Mexican cuisine amidst a super trendy tequila lounge. I have to say, Dos Caminos did not disappoint. Granted, we did drop a load of cash on their tasty margaritas (like $13-$16 per marg, I kid you not), but that was to be expected. We were in NYC after all! Allow me to recommend a few yummy dishes, seeing as you'll all be booking flights to New York after all these recap posts (and I don't blame you):

The St. Rita Margarita// $16 marg made with St. Germain. Worth it.
The Cha-Cha Margarita// Blanco Tequila, Cointreau, & Sangria...who can resist tequila and sangria?
Guacamole// it's served with a salsa trio (tomatillo, tomato chile, & habanero!) and warm corn tortilla chips.
Pescado Tacos (pictured above)// grilled Mahi-Mahi & smoked chile aioli...and that's all I really need to say.
Pollo Tacos (also pictured above)// they come sizzling on a iron skillet. Drool.
Mexico City Street Corn side dish// just do it.

You won't need desert. But you will need to unbutton your pants from all the deliciousness you just inhaled.
Again, worth it. Believe me, I will be back, Dos Caminos. Get those St. Rita's ready!

  5. I love Mexican food but unfortunately I did not have the best experience at that restaurant. We ordered the guacamole but it was very very salty and filled with lime juice. We heard that the waiters make the guacamole and I think ours did a bad job and then he got offended when we complained about it. The last time I was in NYC we went to this cute little Mexican joint near the High Line. Very delicious and very affordable.
