Positano, Italy


Positano is an absolute D R E A M. From the black pebble beaches, colorful cabanas, and lush tropical greenery all the way to the fresh lemon icees (see those HUGE lemons again!) and the decadent homemade cannolis...I could have stayed in that town forever. The first time I'd ever tried a cannoli was in Positano. I'll never forget it. Our tour guide couldn't believe I bought one, after stuffing our faces full of pasta just minutes before. Truth be told, I wasn't hungry...but when in Italy, you must eat a cannoli! MUST! Can you blame me? It was one of the greatest dessert I've ever eaten. Cannoli convert, right here.

I really truly honestly wish we'd had more time in Positano. A long weekend would do. Just so I could lay on the beach, catch some rays, and eat at least a dozen more cannolis...with a side of wine and pasta, of course. I told D someday we are going to make an entire trip of the Amalfi Coast. Jaunt from seaside village to seaside village. He agreed...it's worth its own vacation. To all you soon-to-be honeymooners or wanderlusting travelers, consider the Amalfi Coast (to include Positano) for your next romantic adventure. And send me a box of cannolis, will ya?

    Your photos really bring Positano alive. Cannolis are delicious! I love the ones we get in Abruzzo with lemon cream filling and the traditional with ricotta, sugar and tutti frutti. Yum.....

    Positano was my favorite on the Amalfi Coast also, followed closely by Capri. But I would love to go back to Positano some day! Your pictures really brought me back!

    Ah, I'm looking to plan a trip with a friend to the Amalfi Coast... your photos (and that cannoli!) have totally kicked my procrastinating butt into gear! Gosh, how beautiful :)

    This is absolutely beautiful-the colors are so vivid,+ the houses look like they're stumbling down the cliff! The Italian coast is beautiful-I've been to Cinque Terre before, but I think I may have to make a visit to the Amalfi Coast next time :)

      Cinque Terre is gorgeous, too...but the Amalfi Coast definitely has a different feel. Worth a visit, for sure! :)

    I think it honestly would have been almost wrong to not have gotten a cannoli. I mean, really! Your photographs are gorgeous... it looks like such a fun and colorful place to visit! Positano just climbed a little higher on my must-see list. And I will definitely be getting a cannoli.

    Oh my gosh! So beautiful!!!! I love the colorful buildings and beautiful blue water. The pebble beaches, however, are not the most comfortable! I laid out on the beaches of Nice and it was dreamy, but painful! I gotta say though, it was worth it for the views of the Mediterranean!

    Yes, I could stand to do a long weekend there for sure. It's definitely on my list. We didn't have time for southern Italy on our trip last year, so it's moved up on my someday travel list.
