If there's one thing you do while visiting Bruges, Belgium, make sure it's tasting their authentic Flemish stew. And eating a liege waffle. Oh, and drinking Belgian beer. Ok, so there are really 3 different things you MUST do while in Bruges to get the best experience possible. And then keep doing them every day your there, just for good measure. D and I spent a lovely long weekend visiting the adorable town of Bruges back over Thanksgiving weekend. We got a room at this quaint hotel just off the Markt Square and spent 2.5 days literally eating and drinking our way through Bruges. To be quite honest, aside from the Christmas market going on in the town center (only happens the end of November through Christmas Eve) and the usual old churches and museums, there isn't a whole heck of a lot to do in Bruges. That was totally fine with us, though. It was nice to come to a town with little expectations and sightseeing plans so we could really enjoy what Bruges had to offer...which was mostly copious amounts of beer. Of course, D and I weren't complaining. You'll see what I mean in future posts.
