Nonsense About Yours Truly

I'm taking a little break from posting family vacation recaps today. Mostly because I'm lazy and don't feel like editing another batch of photos. Coming home from vacation with a memory card filled with 2,186 photos made me cringe. The memories are lovely, but sorting through them all is zero fun. Maybe it would be fun if someone were paying me to do it, but alas, no one is. Can you tell I'm bitter? Kidding, kidding.  Anywho, I've been seeing a lot of new faces around these parts and thought I should take some time to introduce myself! I love that you've found your way to my little slice of blogland and I hope you're enjoying the ride! If you haven't been there already...visit my 'Girl Behind the Blog' page for a little bio and to meet the usual suspects found on this here blog 'o mine. I also thought I'd link up with Jenna @ The Life of the Wife and her fabulous co-hosts to give you some more random nonsense about me...as if there was anything else fascinating to know. Aren't you glad you stopped by today? ;)

1) What is your biggest phobia?
Ok, these are insanely morbid, but choking to death while alone and passing out while driving are my two biggest phobias...probably because both have almost happened to me before. For this reason, I loathe driving (mostly long distances) and I can't take horse pills. You know those giant pills that take a gallon of water and 50 panicky swallows to get down? Yeah, can't do it. I take chewable gummy multi-vitamins and fiber supplements like a I'm a 7 year old. I'm well aware a peanut M&M could do just as much damage, but I'd rather die eating chocolaty goodness than choking down a fiber pill. Ya dig?

2) If you could relive any day of your life, what day would it be and why?
Not that our wedding day wasn't wonderful, because it totally was, but I'd love to relive that day over again. Mostly because I want a complete 'I do' re-do...and I've got a Pinterest pin board to prove it! I was the ripe young age of 20 when I got married and was at the mercy of my parents bank account for our wedding. D's impending commission into the Air Force was also breathing down our backs at the time...oh and then there's the fact that neither of us knew exactly what our style was then, so we just picked pretty colors and whatever was cheapest. Wham. Bam. Wedding. If I had it all to do over again, our wedding would be smaller and have a whole different feel to it. All the same love, traditions, and blissful feelings would be there, but with a trendy, more "us", candy coating. And my hair would not be blonde, nor I 30 lbs heavier. I'd also not have my bridesmaids wear the same hairstyle. Yep. I did that. I was a stupid, stupid bride. Sorry, girls! NEVER AGAIN.

3) If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what would it be?
Right now...age 25, no question in my mind. Not too old, not too young...and it's been one of the best years of my life thus far. I've aged enough to know right from wrong and how to survive in this dog-eat-dog-world, but I'm still young and naive enough to know that people are still inherently good and they can change. I'm jaded enough to be cautious with wrong-doers and I've experienced true love in all its glory....not to mention I'm finally confident with who I am, dreams are still plentiful and attainable, and people still confuse me with my little sister. That's gotta mean I'm doing something right. 25's a good year.

4) Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?
No one. I've never had someone flag me down for an autograph. I'm not that cool. A few people have mentioned that I favor Kate Middleton (it's the hair, I'm convinced), Tiffany-Amber Thiessen, and DJ Tanner (Candace Cameron) from Full House. Eh...definitely just the hair.

5) What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life?
Oh my gosh...how hard is this question?! Yikes, umm...

Good Life- One Republic
Penny & Me- Hanson (shut up, no laughing)
You Are The Best Thing- Ray LaMontagne (reminds me of my sweet hubby)
Still- Brian McKnight (Also reminds me of D, mostly because it's our song)
Home- Michael Bublé (the deployments, living far from home, military life anthem)
Hold On- Wilson Phillips (I don't know any girl around my age that didn't listen to this song on repeat back in the day)
Bittersweet Symphony- The Verve
Be Near- Shane & Shane (my completely broken, down on my knees, cry for help song...I cry every time I hear it)
Somewhere Only We Know-Keane
Breath of God- Shane & Shane
You Make My Dreams Come True- Hall & Oats (this one just makes me happy and want to dance)

  1. I'm with you on the horse pills - I can't swallow vitamins either, ugh! And I'm not laughing about Hanson... I still love them and even saw them again in concert two years ago. No shame there!

  5. I've choked on massive pills too many times. I have to psych myself into taking them! But I'd rather take a horse pill than eat a fish any day.

  13. You are so very gorgeous and I adore your hair! Pinterest has a knack for all us ladies out there planning a whole board on our dream weddings :)

I agree on the driving and passing out. Some awful, serious accidents have happened around Kansas, (where I live) because people have passed out, had seizures, or fallen asleep driving! It's scary!

  20. Love this little survey!

I just found your blog via Whiskey Tango Foxtrot and I love it. I'm also jealous of your big fat european family vacation. I've been itching to get back to Europe for some time now. Lucky you gets to live there. I sure wish we could live abroad at some point but my home grown Utah husband would never dream of leaving his favorite fishing spots and his precious Utes for very long. Ha ha.

P.S. We have a furry Tucker boy, too. Ours is just about 10 times bigger than yours. Ha ha. Good name.
