Truth: Vlogging is fun. Weird, but really, really fun. Before we sat down to record this thing, I was a ball of nerves. D? Cool as a cucumber. This coming from the guy who just a week before was trying to come up with ways he could get out of it, and now he's the one all Rico Suave about it? Please. He was trying to make me look bad. ;) Really though, having him right beside me, acting like a goof, made this whole vlogging thing a whole lot easier. Well, him and the wine, but that's beside the point. I don't know what I was so worried about! I'm pretty sure D had a blast, too. I mean, the boy couldn't stop looking at himself in the computer screen. And he brought props. PROPS! I almost fell out of my chair. I think he's been watching too much Jimmy Fallon. It is safe to say that this whole vlogging experience wasn't as bad as either of us had pictured. In fact, we can't wait to do it again! So, before you play this super awesome vlog, there are just few things you should know:
1// It's almost 17 minutes long. I don't really know what to tell you except that neither of us know when to shut up. How long is a vlog supposed to be anyway? Is there a rule? No one gave me the vlogging handbook. It's our first one, so you'll let the lengthiness slide, won't you? It'll be worth every second you watch, I promise.
2// Please ignore my "duh" moment halfway through the video. I swear I'm not always so dense. Some things just dawn on me at the most inopportune times. Keepin' it real, folks. Just keepin' it real.
3// We had Pandora playing Hall & Oates in the background the whole time, but you can barely hear it. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I'm going to go with good. We're probably the only people in the world that still love Hall & Oates. And we're ok with that.
4// Don't loose your mind trying to figure out where that *ding* is coming from...it was on the video. I kept getting emails and my iMac was kind enough to inform me.
5// What you see is what you get in real life, people. I wanted this vlog to feel like you were right there with us, chatting it up on a typical night just hanging out in our living room. I'm sure the people who know us in the real world can attest to this...D really is that mushy and I really do have awesome hair, all the time. This vlog was no exception. ;)
So, without further adieu, our V-day Vlog.
Happy L-O-V-E day, from our living room to yours! xoxo

ReplyDeleteI love watching vlogs as seeing someone in video, hearing voices, etc always makes a clearer picture of the woman behind the blog ;)

It didn't even feel like 17 minutes, this was great!
ReplyDeleteAh y'all are too cute, I love it!
ReplyDeleteOkay, for real, you guys are just adorable! This was so fun to watch!
ReplyDeleteyou guys are both NATURALS in front of the camera... seriously David is a ham! I have a shirt that says that :-). and of course I wanna know about baby C !!!!!! I can't wait to see the next chapter
ReplyDeleteI loved you guys so much more after watching your cute vlog! I can't wait for the next ones! Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteCute! Except a little jealous of the hair...I won't lie. I love Hall & Oates, so there is at least one other person. Plus my dog. She loves them, too. If you count dogs, and she hopes you do. Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! Y'all are so cute together! I tell ya, those David's are just the best (my hubby is a David, too) ;-) Thanks for taking the time to do this!
ReplyDeleteI love that you included Texas in places you want to visit! Its the best of the best! :) And I also love that you can get your husband to watch the bachelor with you! My husband refuses!! ha! Enjoyed the vlog! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, this is great! I always love "seeing" bloggers and being able to hear their voices. Thanks for doing this, hope you had a great Valentine's day!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely :)
ReplyDeleteYou both are just too cute! I enjoyed watching and think it's great your hubby played along. Maybe you will convince him to do another vlog some day in the near future.
ReplyDeleteI think he enjoyed this more than you did. Wow. And here's my realization in all of this....
ReplyDeletethese husbands of ours need to start a support group. They can have little skype dates where they complain about all of the pictures we take and how we are constantly online and yadayadayada. It would be good for them. :)
I cracked up at your hubby's comment on the food picture taking. I wish I could get my husband to watch this, so that at the very least he could be just as understanding as your husband is about it. Instead, I've just caved in and don't do food photos (unless they're of just my own plate).
ReplyDeleteThis was so lovely.
That was so cute! I really loved the vlog and I hope you're able to do one every so often. It's a nice personal touch to the blog and it's neat knowing more about your lives. I have to admit I was curious about how the "operational security" played into the world of blogging. But I think you're a talented writer, you never appear to be...holding back or dancing around topics. Instead your blogs are always so refreshing and positive and oh so very fun. Thank you for sharing this and 17 minutes isn't "too long" at all. :)
ReplyDeleteI just watched this and omg you guys are so super cute. I like the idea of 'at home dates'
ReplyDeletelooking forward to your next vlog
