Post-Vacation Update!

What is up, my friends?! Did you miss me? I missed you. Well, kind of. I missed interacting and writing, but I sure as heck didn't miss the monotony of the day to day at home. Our Spanish cruise was nothing short of AWESOME, y'all. We had a few slight hiccups (which I'll tell you about soon), but other than that, this cruise blew our Baltic sailing in July right out of the water. Pun totally intended. We sailed with Norwegian Cruise Lines (on the Norwegian Spirit) and their service was right up there with our Celebrity sailing last May. Friendly staff, overflowing drinks, beautiful ship...we will definitely sail with Norwegian again!

As for life post-cruise...well, I've totally got the post-cruise blues. We were welcomed back to Germany with 40°F temperatures and foggy drizzle. A far cry from the high 70°F temps and sunny skies of Spain, Morocco, and Portugal. I looked all kinds of crazy walking around the Frankfurt airport in sandals and a fresh tan. But, oh well. German winter has begun and they'll be no stopping it till April. Enough about Germany...back to beautiful Spain. GOOD GOSH, you all. If I had to pick another European country to live in aside from Germany, I'd move to Spain in a heartbeat. Barcelona is electric. Beautiful, warm, charming, and filled with tapas and sangria like no other. I drank Barcelona dry of sangria in just 24 hours, no joke. And I don't regret a single bite of manchego cheese or patatas bravas, or my 3 different meals of seafood paella. The cruise hadn't even started yet and I'd already gained 5 pounds! Kidding. I think. Here are a few Instagrams from our pre-cruise stop in stunning Barcelona (more fabulous photos and cruise recaps to come, of course):

And a few instas from our stop in Marrakech, Morocco:

Instas from our stop on the island of Madeira in Funchal, Portugal:

We had another stop in Málaga, Spain and we visited Montserrat near Barcelona on our way back home, but I'm too pooped to even show you those instas. This post is already getting way too long as it is. Guess more fun to look forward to later! I've decided I'm definitely blogging this cruise before I blog our Baltic cruise. Why? Because I want to. ;)

Stay tuned for lots cruise recaps! And thanks for sticking with me while I was away. It will be back to regularly scheduled programming soon. OH...and get your wallets ready for Monday, people! The first guide in my 2nd Annual Handmade Holiday Gift Guide will go live bright and early Monday morning! Lots of amazing shops with sweet discounts JUST FOR YOU!!! I absolutely can't wait to spread the holiday cheer. Happy Thursday to all!

  7. Look forward to your photos. Hands down, Spain is my favorite, favorite country to travel to (though Southern Portugal's coast is pretty awesome, too!). From north to south, there's not one area I haven't been enamored with. And now I'm ready to go back! Glad you had a good trip.
