Weekend Happenings

Guys, I've been a bad blogger this week. Just two posts? It seems I'm totally slacking off. But the truth is, I've been editing gobs and gobs of photos all week in preparation for a big trip I'm taking this weekend. You know, the trip in which I finally get to go HOME FOR CHRISTMAS?! Yep. That's happening bright and early Sunday morning and my excitement level is just about as high as that time I got to sit 6th row at an N*SYNC concert when I was 13. Except this time I'm not screaming for JT to marry me. I'm screaming for my mommy to make me cheese toast...but that's beside the point. I am SO looking forward to doing all the things that American expats dream of doing when they finally make it back to the homeland. Like going REAL shopping at Target (online shopping is the devil), eating 45,000 Chick-Fil-A sandwiches and slathering myself in Chick-Fil-A sauce (just look away, it won't be pretty), parking in a parking lot that actually fits my car, speaking sentences that don't being with "Sprechen Sie Englisch?", and not having to pay every single time I have to pee when I'm out in public. Every dime I save, I plan to blow at Krispy Kreme. Doughnuts be warned.

I'll also be doing lots of squeezing of this doggy face who I haven't cuddled in 10 whole months! If he's wearing that bow tie when I see him, I will surely melt right into the floor.

Also among the holiday homecoming festivities is a MUCH overdue haircut and color for yours truly, meeting my new niece who was born back in May (I'm one excited auntie!), and lots of coffee and margarita dates with all of my lovely girls. Oh, and there's that big GIRLS TRIP TO NYC that'll be happening as well. No big deal (yes, BIG DEAL!!). The shopping that will happen is sure to be epic. And of course, because it's Christmas time, there will also be lots of decking the halls, Christmas cookie baking, and laughing till my sides hurt at our annual MacBook video making. Hopefully this year I won't pee myself. Kidding. Kind of.

{Christmas 2008}

It's safe to say my brain has already checked out and is somewhere off galavanting around America without me. Thankfully the rest of me will be joining very soon! Along with my sweet hubby who will fly in just a week later than I do. That dirty mistress, the Air Force, likes to keep him away from all the fun sometimes. Although, this little separation does give me time to do some super secret Christmas shopping for the Mr. So, he can't be too mad that I get a head start. :)

I'd love to tell you that I'm going to be a stellar blogger and post every single day while I'm gone, but we all know that's not going to happen. Can you blame me? I do, however, have some awesome travel posts scheduled and a few giveaways that will be sprinkled about to bring you some serious holiday cheer, so keep your eyes peeled! I most certainly won't be going off the grid. Make sure you follow me via Instagram (username: @CaseyCote) to keep up with all my stateside adventures! Oh, and some quick blog housekeeping before I hop an airplane for 9 straight hours:

+Don't forget about my Handmade Holiday Gift Guide! You've still got a few good shopping days left before all of the shop discount codes disappear on December 15th! Go spread the love and support a handmade business this holiday season!

+Did you see yesterday's giveaway post? Shabby Apple is giving one lucky reader a $50 gift card to their fabulous shop! Head on over and enter, y'all!

+I've still got a few sponsor spots left for December and I'm doing a LAST CALL sale for all ad sizes! Until Monday, you can use code LASTCALL to get 40% OFF your ad spot for this month! This sale can also roll over to ads purchased for January...that means a FEATURE ad spot would cost you just $12. A LARGE spot...$8.50. A friggin' steal, folks. Grab your spot today!

 Now I'm off to be pampered and adorned with sparkles. The squadron holiday party is tonight and I totally made a hair-do and make-up appointment. With this insanely long mane, I can't leave anything to chance these days. ;) Enjoy your weekend, my friends! And safe travels to me! I can tell myself that, right?

  11. Enjoy your trip home for the holidays! I think not being able to see my family (or at least be in a similar time zone to chat at normal hour of the day) would be the hardest part of the expat life. The second part would be the lack of free public restrooms...get it together Europe. I also have a dachshund!

    I'm your newest follower. Please note that if you commit to co-hosting the Aloha Friday blog hop, it is a month's long commitment. I just recently had someone back out of it because they were in another blog hop with a similar name and decided they didn't want to continue. I am happy to have more co-hosts!! Just make sure you're willing to make the month long commitment :)

  20. Aww it's so great you get to go home for Christmas! We are too, and it's been YEARS since I've been home for Christmas. I just scheduled all my posts for the month (all but minor changes and add ins), so I will just have to keep up with emails. Makes it ten times easier!
