Like with all good things, they must come to an end...and our 4 days in Ireland rank right up there as some greatest things we've ever experienced. Ireland was one of those places that kept me in awe for at least 95% of our trip, even though my hair was whipping around all over the place the whole time. So. Much. Wind! Even then, everything was so green (duh), everyone was so friendly, and the views...oh the views! Hardly comparable to anything we'd ever seen before. We toured north, south, east, and west and still barely scratched the surface of everything Ireland has to offer. That being said, we toured north, south, east, and west Ireland...EXHAUSTED is the only word that comes to mind. We've gotten really good at cramming in as many activities as we can into finite amounts of time during our travels. One never knows when one will be back again, am I right? While we do get to see and experience a lot, we also tend to need a day or two to recoup, even when jet lag isn't a concern. Getting back into the swing of things just isn't on the agenda for me today. Instead, I'm neglecting the laundry, the grocery shopping, and my inbox and replacing them with couch lounging, Netflixing, and detoxing my body from all things stew & Guinness. Oh, and did I mention I'm jetting off to London on Friday for a short girl's weekend? The party never stops 'round here, folks. Won't stop 'till we hop that flight to Florida in June. ;)
Speaking of Florida, I do have to tell you all how totally and completely floored I am from all the best wishes and congrats each of you expressed to me regarding our assignment announcement! D and I had quite a bit of time to mull over our exciting news while on vacation and we are growing more thrilled about it by the minute! Ireland was such a fun way to celebrate the end of our wait. I have to say, your excitement just adds to our excitement and we're overwhelmed at the love shown to us both over the last few days...even while we were away. I promise I'll respond to every blog comment, email, Instagram comment, and tweet we received as soon as I find my way out of my post-vacation fog. Although, that might be short lived as the fog rolls in again this weekend, but you can't fault a girl for trying, right? Just know that the kindness of blog world is not lost on us and we're so grateful for the support and continued interest in what the heck we're doing with our lives. You guys keep me reassured that this blogging thing will continue to bless us even as we leave the expat world and delve into a whole new chapter of life back stateside. Warm fuzzies all over the place this fine Tuesday, y'all! Anywho, changing gears...I feel a nap coming on. Talk later this week, friends? I'll be around. ;)

ReplyDeleteI'm going to Ireland in May, and I will be in Dublin for 3 days. Do you have any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteYAY! Make sure you check out the Guinness Storehouse and have a pint at their 360 rooftop bar. Great views of the city! We also really loved viewing the Book of Kells and the Long Room at Trinity College. If you have time to take a day trip out of Dublin, book a tour to the Cliffs of Moher...they're breathtaking!! Enjoy Ireland!
DeleteHi Casey,
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower (new to the blogging world thanks to your blog) and am simply in love with your blog! I came across it googling living in Germany (something potentially on the cards) and just love your upbeat fun posts that just make me want go to all the places you have been!
I am seriously addicted, I started just glossing over for an idea of what living in Germany is like and I've ended up working my way from the beginning to now (not there yet though haha).
Please don't stop blogging when you return stateside :)
Hannah

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to see it through your eyes. Looking forward to more pictures in the near future....Miss you much, Love you more.
